YALEPIC® Proteinase K(20mg/ml) is a serine protease with broad substrate specificity . Due to its high activity across a wide range of conditions, including salts, denaturants, detergents, pH, and temperature, Proteinase K is widely used in nucleic acid extraction, preparation of chromosomal DNA for electrophoresis, Western blotting, and inactivation of nucleases in DNA and RNA preparation procedures. On one hand, Proteinase K rapidly degrades proteins in cell lysates; on the other hand, it effectively inactivates cellular nucleases, thereby protecting the released nucleic acids from degradation. Denaturants such as SDS (1%) can enhance its activity. The commonly used working concentration ranges from 50 to 100 µg/mL, with the specific concentration determined based on factors such as the presence of SDS or urea in the buffer, pH, and temperature.
